This policy explains what personal information AutoPros (“AutoPros,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and your choices. AutoPros provides automotive repair information and, where authorized, resold vehicle history reports. You can reach us at support@transparencymotors.com; a mailing address is available on request.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: your email address, used for passwordless login codes, and any messages you send us.
- Purchase data: when you buy, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your name and card details. AutoPros does not store full card numbers; we receive limited transaction data such as the last four digits and status.
- Vehicle & usage data: VINs you decode, vehicles and content you access, your plan and entitlements, and order or report history.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, and local storage used to keep you signed in.
2. How we use it
To create and secure your account; send login codes and transactional messages; process payments and deliver purchased access; provide vehicle data and, where authorized, history reports; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with law; and, only with your consent, send marketing.
3. Legal bases (EU/UK users)
We process data to perform our contract with you (account, purchases), for our legitimate interests (security and service improvement), to comply with legal obligations, and based on your consent (marketing and any non-essential cookies).
4. Sharing
We share data only with providers who help us operate: Stripe (payments), our email provider (login emails), Cloudflare (hosting and storage), and history-report providers when you order a report. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose data to comply with law or protect our rights.
5. History reports
When you order a CARFAX® or AUTOCHECK® report, we transmit the VIN to fulfill your order. Those reports are produced by third parties under their own terms and privacy practices.
6. Retention
We keep account and transaction records while your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes, then delete or anonymize them.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under California’s CCPA/CPRA and the EU/UK GDPR — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to non-discrimination for exercising them. We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email support@transparencymotors.com; we will verify and respond as required by law. Categories we collect include identifiers (email, IP), commercial information (purchases), and internet activity (usage).
8. Security
We use encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; because login uses email codes, please keep your email account secure.
9. Children
AutoPros is for users 18 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. International transfers
We operate on global infrastructure and may process data in the United States and elsewhere with appropriate safeguards.
